In 1990, SNCARC's Board voted to form a new organization specifically to create homes and jobs for people with developmental disabilities. Lifeworks, Inc., a separate but related nonprofit organization, continues the residential and vocational programs that began at SNCARC - and with many of the staff who had worked there for years. As a separate, incorporated organization, Lifeworks has been able to expand both vocational and residential services. The two agencies continue to work hand-in-hand to provide services across the life span of people with developmental disabilities in the 12 towns served by SNCARC and beyond. Their shared history and common purpose unite them and provide continuity of services to the members of SNCARC.
