South Norfolk County Arc (SNCARC) offers up to five scholarships each year to college students (who will be juniors, seniors or graduate students) who are studying Special Education or a closely related field and who will be juniors, seniors or graduate students in the upcoming academic year. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received a SNCARC scholarship. The deadline for applications is April 9, and scholarships are awarded in May. SNCARC has been awarding scholarships for more than 25 years.

This year, we are seeking information about past scholarship winners. If you received a scholarship from SNCARC, please email us and let us know where you are and what you are doing now. We want to feature past scholarship winners in an upcoming newsletter. We're wondering if you are still working in the field of developmental disabilities - and even if you are not working in the field at present, how your college degree in that area has helped you.

The 2010 scholarship application deadline is April 9. Click here for an application. You can fill out the application on your computer and print it or you can print it and then fill it out - but you can't submit the application online. You will need to mail it or bring it to the SNCARC office before the April 9 deadline. Attaching a letter with more details about your career goals and interests is helpful but not required.
