Located in West Roxbury, the Senior Connections Program serves approximately 24 participants.
The special components of this program are similar to those of the The Alternative Day Program,
volunteer work, self-advocacy, art and music and community outings. The differences are the location,
it is located in a “storefront” setting among community businesses, and the requirement
that the participants be age 55 or older. The participants in this program are often retired from
employment. They can walk out the door with staff and be in a local restaurant. They join in activities
with other senior citizens at the local Senior Center, and volunteer at the Veteran’s Adminstration
hospital and delivering Meals on Wheels.
The Senior Connections program offers nursing services, occupational
and physical therapies and speech therapy as needs are identified for the
participants. The hours are the same as for the Day Habilitation as a whole,
Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For a tour or to make a referral, please
contact Lisa Knox, Program Director at 781-762-4001 ext. 345.
